Blueberries and Fertility

Blueberries and Fertility

Antioxidants are essential on your fertility journey as dietary support for your eggs and sperm. These reproductive germ cells are very susceptible to oxidative damage rendering them less effective in the act of reproduction and fertilization.
Blueberries are one of THE BEST sources of antioxidants, and oh so delicious!

We love Rebecca Katz recipes from The Cancer-Fighting Kitchen. They are simple, delicious, and health-promoting. Having this Blueberry Compote is nice to have on hand for breakfast bowls, toasts, or for a little guilt-free treat when you need it.

BLUEBERRY COMPOTE

Ingredients:

1 1⁄2 cups frozen blueberries
1 teaspoon freshly squeezed orange or lemon juice
1 teaspoon orange or lemon zest
1 teaspoon maple syrup
1⁄4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Combine all of the ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 3 to 4 minutes, until the mixture bubbles, pulls away from the sides of the pan, and becomes syrupy.

Note: If you have fresh blueberries, all the better. Just add 2 tablespoons of water to the recipe.
